In Celebration of Manufacturing Day

What is Manufacturing Day?

Manufacturing Day? It is a celebration of modern manufacturing meant to inspire the next generation of manufacturers. San Diego is organizing activities throughout the county, from October 3rd-7th. MiraCosta's Technology Career Institute will be open all week for school tours. Interested parties should contact Kristin at School groups will receive a tour, short presentation, possible guest speakers from the industry, and give-a-ways. By special request, we will be providing demonstrations of robotics, additive (3D printing) and subtractive (machining) manufacturing.

On Thursday, October 6th, we will be opening our doors for an evening of food, beer/wine, and opportunity drawings. In addition, we will have an industry resource fair (education options, insurance, industry organizations, vendors, etc.), and of course be providing tours of our training facility. This event is free, though there will be a cost to purchase tickets for the opportunity drawings. Space is limited, so don't wait to sign up! Contact our office at 760-795-6820. About MiraCosta College Community Education & Workforce Development

MiraCosta College’s Technology Career Institute (TCI) is part of MiraCosta College’s Community Education & Workforce Development department. We offer our local community members the opportunity to enhance their lives and their careers with low cost, hassle-free classes, workshops and programs. From enrichment classes to job training programs, we provide the types of classes that make it easy for you to reach your goals, no matter what age. All of our programs and classes are fee-based and not-for-credit. We offer a 487 hour machinist technology training that typically takes 13-weeks to complete. We have a 93% retention rate and a 92% employment rate. In addition, we have a 600 hour engineering technician program and a 92 hour welding course. Workforce Development

If you need to find a job quickly, redirect your career, or upgrade your professional skills, turn to MiraCosta College Community Education & Workforce Development.  We do it better, faster, and for a fraction of the cost you would spend at a private college! Most of our work skills programs provide opportunities to work with the instructors or career counselors on resumes, interview skills, and job placement. Upon completion of each course, students will receive a Certificate of Accomplishment from MiraCosta College. Need to show the world that you took one of our excellent courses, workshops or programs?  A Certificate of Accomplishment is available upon completion of any Community Education course or series of courses for just $15 per certificate.  Call for details 760.795.6820.

  • Thursday, September 29th at 6pm at the Technology Career Institute, 2075 Las Palmas Drive, Carlsbad

Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering Information Sessions
  • Thursday, September 29 at 9am (testing & interviews are immediately folowing the infromation session)
  • Wednesday, November 2 at 6pm (testing & interviews are on Wednesday, November 9th at 6pm
  • Tuesday, December 13 at 2pm (testing & interviews are immediately following the information session. 
All information sessions for Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering will be held at the Technology Career Institute, 2075 Las Palmas Drive, Carlsbad
