About MiraCosta College Community Education & Workforce Development

MiraCosta College's Technology Career Institute (TCI) is part of MiraCosta College’s Community Education & Workforce Development department. We offer our local community members the opportunity to enhance their lives and their careers with low cost, hassle-free classes, workshops and programs.  From enrichment classes to job training programs, we provide the types of classes that make it easy for you to reach your goals, no matter what age. All of our programs and classes are fee-based and not-for-credit. We offer a 487 hour machinist technology training that typically takes 13-weeks to complete. We have a 93% retention rate and a 92% employment rate. In addition, we have a 600 hour engineering technician program and a 92 hour welding course. Spring 2017 Classes-Online Enrollment Begins 12/16/16

You will be able to enroll into our Spring 2017 classes and workshops at this website on Friday, December 16th.  Or, contact our office at 760-795-6820 and we can enroll you over the phone with a Visa, Discover or MasterCard.  The hard copy Community Education Bulletin will be mailed the first part of January 2017-be on the look out for it in your mailbox. 

Friday Tours

We invite you to come by and see our new location and sign up for a Community Education class or excursion. We are offering tours every Friday at 9 a.m. Please email us at tci@miracosta.edu  or call our office at 760-795-6820 to schedule a tour.

Workforce Development

If you need to find a job quickly, redirect your career, or upgrade your professional skills, turn to MiraCosta College Community Education & Workforce Development.  We do it better, faster, and for a fraction of the cost you would spend at a private college! Most of our work skills programs provide opportunities to work with the instructors or career counselors on resumes, interview skills, and job placement. Upon completion of each course, students will receive a Certificate of Accomplishment from MiraCosta College. Certificate of Accomplishment

Need to show the world that you took one of our excellent courses, workshops or programs?  A Certificate of Accomplishment is available upon completion of any Community Education course or series of courses for just $15 per certificate.  Call for details 760.795.6820.

Classes and Workshop Refund and Transfer Policy

Refunds will be made up to three business days prior to class start date.   No refunds will be given once a class has started. A $10 cancellation fee for regular classes and a $25 cancelation fee for work skills certificate programs will be retained for each refund. A full refund will be given if a class is canceled due to low enrollment. Unused attendance is not transferable to another class session.  Transfers will be approved up to three business days prior to the class start date.  Students must receive a verbal approval from Community Education before a transfer is complete.  

Drivers Education & English Language Institute
