This course helps students pass the North American Board of Certifi ed Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) Photovoltaic Associate credential. NABCEP is a nationally recognized certifying agency for solar installers. This course is split into two parts: the fi rst is the theory and practical hands-on experience; the second is preparation for the exam. The class will jointly build a demo solar system using common PV components and electrical parts and tools. The class will integrate theory, code and regulations with practical applications. Topics include:
• PV markets and applications
• Electricity basics
• Solar energy fundamentals
• PV module fundamentals
• System components
• PV system sizing principles
• PV system electrical and mechanical design
• Performance analysis, maintenance and troubleshooting
(includes OSHA-10, testing fees, and book). GI Bill® and WIOA funding approved.

Core Program: Tuesdays & Thursdays, 2/28–4/27, 5–9 PM
NABCEP Test: Thursday, May 4 at 5 PM
We recommended 80 internship hours at the conclusion of the training.
