Learn the craft of upholstery! This class will teach you the basic fundamentals and techniques. Bring your own projects to class to work on. This class will take you through fabrics, planning, terminology, as well as using hand tools for upholstery. This is an interesting and informative hands-on class. Suitable for those who are entering the field, as well as the DIYer. Wing, side and dining chairs, stools, benches, ottomans, cushions and upholstered accessories are recommended as first time projects in this class. Those of you entering
the field will begin to prepare your professional portfolio. Together, we will plan your procedure and materials list needed to learn the art of upholstery.
Topics include:
• Tools, terms and supplies
• Overview of sewing machines
• Measuring and estimating
• Pattern layout (charting)
• Selecting fabrics
Demonstrations may have handouts. Please bring binder and paper for notes

Please read:  EARLY BIRD SPECIAL-$150: Register BEFORE 1/27 for this special class fee rate. Upholstery of sofas and large items are reserved for advanced students. A $15 material fee will be collected in class which includes limited supplies. Resources for your supplies will be given in class.
