An in-depth study of logic design geared toward designing sequential logic systems using ladder logic based on a RS Logix 500 emulator. Topics covered include:
Combinational and sequential logic, state diagrams and sequential function charts. A review of ladder logic using switches, timers and
counters will be covered along with advanced topics, such as arithmetic operations, MOV operators, logic functions, shift registers and subroutines. Five simulated design projects will be assigned throughout the course.
At the end of this course the student will become familiar with design methodologies for PLC programming.
Note: A basic understanding of electrical circuitry is strongly recommended.
