Learn the craft of upholstery in this interesting and informative hands-on class. This class will focus on the basic fundamentals, techniques and terminology of upholstery and how to properly plan and execute a project. This class is suitable for students new to the field as well as the DIY'er.  Bring your own projects to class to work on. First time project suggestions are: wing, side and dining chairs, stools, benches, ottomans, cushions and upholstered accessories are recommended.  Those students entering the field will begin to prepare a professional portfolio.  Upholstery of sofas and large items (no recliners) are reserved for advanced students.
Topics include:
• Tools, terms and supplies
• Overview of sewing machines
• Measuring and estimating
• Pattern layout (charting)
• Selecting fabrics

Please read:  EARLY BIRD SPECIAL $175, register BEFORE 1/30 for this special class fee. A $20 material fee will be collected in class which includes limited supplies. Please bring binder and paper for notes. Shopping resources for supplies will be given in class.
