These simple, safe but challenging exercises designed to improve balance and coordination. They will include exercises to improve "core" muscle strength as well as overall muscular strength. Participants will move in often unpracticed ways such as backwards, tilting and turning. Fall prevention and recovery will be practiced throughout the course.

Join other first-timers (and those who return again and again) to explore the world of t’ai chi, the ancient Chinese martial art long valued as a healing, meditative and defensive practice. Following yin/yang principles (the foundation of traditional Chinese medicine and acupuncture) promotes harmony, relaxation and balance. T’ai chi exercises condition your whole body and improve your mood, posture, concentration, coordination, circulation, strength and flexibility, while reducing stress and increasing your energy. The steps and movements (“five elements,” “five animals,” and basic qigong) are easily learned by everyone.
