MiraCosta College Community Education and Workforce Development, in partnership with Family Health Services, is proud to offer this excellent opportunity for those seeking to enter the medical field as a CPT1 phlebotomy technician. Students are required to complete • a minimum of 20-hours in basic phlebotomy • a minimum of 20-hours in advanced phlebotomy • a minimum 40-hour laboratory course in applied phlebotomy • 40-80 hour clinical externship in a health care setting. Students who pass the course will also be eligible to take a certification examination offered by the National Health Career Association (NHA), offered in class at the conclusion of the course. Upon successful completion of the course, participants will be issued a state-approved training certificate. NOTE: National exam fee, plus application fee, and all immunization and background checks are not included in the tuition fee and must be paid by the student. Externship: Clinical externships will be provided and supervised by our phlebotomy program staff.  


Schedule : Weekly - Mon, Wed, Fri 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM; 32 sessions; starting 3/13/2017, ending 5/24/2017
